About the Event
We're thrilled to invite you to the first Dreambox Collective concert of 2021! A Saturday afternoon of music, art and learning, in partnership with the Lillian Howell Project, a young women’s refuge.
"A Space of One’s Own" is a creative exploration of our relationship to home, and what it means to build a safer, more supportive environment in our own lives, as well as for others around us. It’s an acknowledgment of the various factors that impact women’s lives and how communities come together to create an environment where all women can thrive. In March, our Dreambox members visited the Lillian Howell Project and were absolutely in awe of the work they do in the education, care and support they provide to young women in Sydney. We are extremely grateful to have had the chance to learn about their work in depth.
Join us for an eye-opening experience of musical and artistic responses to this theme, featuring guest speaker Vivian Stavis (manager of the Lillian Howell Project), and the premiere of new works by Chloe Chung, Alice Chance, Deepka Ratra and Sandra Brand. The cost of your ticket will go towards supporting the Lillian Howell Project as well as ensuring Dreambox Collective can continue presenting concerts into the future.
